DMV, 6th Floor Asbestos Abatement, Renovation, Building Reskin and CUP

The Department of Motor Vehicles Headquarters Facility Renovation project consists of asbestos abatement, demolition, tenant improvements, new roof and PV panels, exterior reskin and new central plant. The 77,590sf interior renovation includes; asbestos abatement, accessibility modifications, open office areas, hard walled office areas, automatic fire protection-suppression system and a new HVAC system. The new exterior skin requires the demolition of the existing glass system and installation of new window system. A new steel-framed entry tower addition was designed to connect to the existing building and is supported on drilled pier foundation. The new 6,700sf concrete masonry unit central plant contains three chillers, three boilers and a cooling tower.
